REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANILA -- The crafting of a blueprint which will outline strategies to develop the envisioned Bangsamoro entity kicked off on Wednesday in Davao City in southern Philippines.
Dubbed as the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP), the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) said in a statement that the blueprint will identify investments and programs to promote "inclusive growth," stability and help create jobs in the new political entity from 2014 until 2020.
The planning process is led by BDA, the development arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the biggest Muslim rebel group in the Philippines.
"The BDP will set the strategic direction for the new Bangsamoro government by identifying potential areas for investment, private sector promotion, and cooperation with other regions in the country," said BDA Chairman Saffrullah M. Dipatuan.
The planning process for the BDP is funded by a grant of 540, 000 U.S. dollars from the Mindanao Trust Fund being administered by the World Bank.
"Bangsamoro" refers to the new political entity that will replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, as provided for in the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro signed by the Philippine government and the MILF in 2012.
