REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The state-onwed lender PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Tbk will provide credit to finance infrastructure amounting to Rp15 billion to support national development in 2015, an official has said.
"In 2015, at least there will be a loan around Rp 14 trillion to Rp 15 trillion for infrastructure," BNI president director Achmad Baiquni stated after a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR)'s commission XI here on Wednesday.
In addition to the infrastructure, BNI will also provide credit for the maritime sector ranging from Rp1.6 trillion to Rp2 trillion in 2015, he added.
According to him, credit funds for the infrastructure will increase in 2016.
Baiquni further said that infrastructure funding is a long-term projection, so that his side will explore the long-term funds, for example, through the issuance of bonds and deposits.
He added that until December 2014, BNI has financed infrastructure sector amounted to Rp 36.6 trillion, mostly for energy.
In the maritime sector, BNI has financed upstream and downstream projects valued at Rp8.7 trillion, he pointed out.
