REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Imam of Ash Sholah Mosque Abu Bilal has presented a placard as a token of appreciation to the Indonesian people who helped in the reconstruction of the mosque destroyed in Israel air strikes last year.
"They thanked the Indonesian people who helped to renovate the mosque destroyed during the 51-day Israeli aggression," Chairman of the Presidium of Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Indonesia Dr Henry Hidayatullah stated here on Tuesday.
MER-C Indonesia channeled donations from the Indonesian public to procure materials for the reconstruction of the mosque in Gaza, Dr Hidayatullah was quoted as saying by MER-C Operational Manager Rima Manzanaris.
The mosque is located in Jabaliya, North Gaza. The brutal Israeli aggression killed several people in North Gaza, particularly in Beit Hanun and Jabaliya.
"We thank all donors who have entrusted their donation for Palestine to MER-C," Dr Hidayatullah said.
MER-C is now making preparations for the official handover of Indonesia Hospital, whose construction was being carried out by the NGO for the last six years, to the Gaza authorities.
The hospital is located in North Gaza and was constructed with the donations received from the Indonesian public.
