REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Pekanbaru detected 10 hotspots which spread across six counties and cities in Riau Province, on Friday (25/12).
Head of BMKG Pekanbaru Sugarin said, four hotspots found in Bengkalis and one hotspot found each in Rokan Hilir, Meranti, Dumai, Pelalawan and Siak. While, of the 10 hot spots, a hotspot was indicating a land and forest fires with a confidence level of 70 percent.
"The hotspot is observed in Bengkalis," he added.
Even so, according to him, in general, rains potentially occurred with high intensity in western, central, and south of Riau.
In addition to 10 hotspots in Riau, he also said that hotspots were also detected in Bengkulu (one hotspot), Jambi (five hotspots), West Sumatra (one hotspot), and South Sumatra (four hotspots).
