REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Muhammadiyah General Chairman, Professor Din Syamsuddin, will speak before the United Nation (UN) General Assembly in New York, US. Din is invited by the UN to speak in the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2012 conducted on Tuesday.
The UN General Assembly invites five leaders representing five religions in the world. The five leaders will deliver their religious perspective. Din represents Islam and he also comes as the capacity of the Asian Conference of Religions for Peace (ACRP) President.
“This is an honor and pride to have the concession for Indonesia and Islam. I will make the most of it,” Din said.
One of the most important points in his speech is peace message and two Indonesian philosophical foundations, Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
Din hopes, this UN annual agenda will enlighten the world civilization.
Din said, the interfaith harmony in Indonesia is better. It is indicated by the interfaith conference. The better harmony is an important point to maintain the Indonesian existence. “The harmony is needed for strengthening the complexity in the nation,” he said.
