REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Provincial government of West Nusa Tenggara prepares travel destination to support Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy promoting nine sharia tourism destinations in Indonesia.

"We prepares sharia tourist destinations. Its potential is quite large on Lombok Island, known as Thousand Island Mosque," Head of Culture and Tourism in West Nusa Tenggara, Muhammad Nasir said recently.

Nasir said that government officials have been launched that the nine destinations in Indonesia would be offered to Muslim travelers from all over the world. They are Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, West Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Jakarta, Banten, West Java, East Java and Makassar.

Determination of sharia tourist destination's readiness is needed human resources, local culture, local tourism products and tourist accommodation. Sharia tourism destination development is part of preparation ahead of launch of Islamic tourism products in 2014.

Sharia tourism includes not only the existence of destination and religious travel, but also includes the availability of facilities, such as restaurants and hotels that provide halal food and place of prayer.

In 2010, Indonesia received seven million tourists visit and 17 percent is Muslims. With more active promotion of sharia tourism, Muslim visitors are expected to rise 20 to 25 percent in 2014 and 2015.
