REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- One of the recommendations that was made in 47th Muhamamdiyah 47th congress in Makassar was illegitimate in choosing leaders who were corrupt. General Secretary of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti, said that he is agree that the remission is part of the rights of citizens.
"We won’t be agree if remission would hamper the eradication of corruption," said Mu'ti to Republika, Monday (10/8).
However, if the remission will not give any effects, then Muhammadiyah refuses the remission. Even the leaders who were corrupted can change their jail to become a hotel.
Earlier, in March, the Ministry of Justice, Yasona Laoly, revised law no. 99 of 2012 on Remission. He wanted the article on remission convict corruption cases revised.
In the law, the convict of corruption should receive remission if they cooperate with law enforcement to dismantle the case. In addition, the remission will be granted if the the police and the prosecutor make recommendations.
