REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - About 21 athletes from seven branches of sports become the contingent from Indonesia in London Olympics. They were inaugurated by Indonesian Committee of Olympics (KOI) in National Museum, Jakarta, on Friday.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Andi Mallarangeng, who attended the ceremony, asked the contingent to work hard. "They must struggle to achieve good places, wave the Red and White Flag, and sing Indonesia Raya," the minister said.
The Indonesian contingent includes the Athens Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat and the Silver Medalist of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Lilyana Natsir. Accompanied by 20 officials, the 21 contingent will go to London in three batches. The team will fly on July 12, while the official is on July 16 and the big entourage in July 23.
