REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Malaysian supporters who insulted Indonesian Football Team in Youtube and hit Indonesian supporters at Bukit Jalil Stadion (Malaysia) have sparked public outcry in Indonesia. A member of Indonesian House of Representatives, Edhi Prabowo, demanded that the case to be investigated.
"I urge the board of ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) to give firm sanction to Malaysia Football Team for the uncivilized supporters," he said on Friday.
Secondly, he urged Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) to officially protest AFF and FIFA boards for violation towards regulation of football competition. Thirdly, he asked FIFA to comprehensively investigate the case and sanction Malaysian football Association.
Furthermore, he said that Malaysia supporters must learn on how to behave since FIFA prohibits any kinds of racial and religious harrasment. "Malaysian Government and the board of Malaysian Football Association must educate its citizens not to violate FIFA regulation," he said.
