REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa, concerns about inflation after severe flooding that hits Jakarta. Floods has caused the streets paralyzed, companies forced to shut, transportation hampered, and flights reschedulled which all are considered very costly.
"I concern about inflation," Minister Rajasa said on Friday, hoping that the impacts of flood did not affect the economy in medium and long term.
Rajasa has instructed his staff to distribute the food supplies. He claimed that rice stock in state logistics agency (Bulog) was sufficient until the next seven months. He underlined the important of good management between Bulog and local government to stabilize the price and the supplies.
"If transportation and supply are hampered in an area, Bulog will open its warehouse and coordinate with local government for the distribution," he said.
