REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono gave Kalpataru, an award for an individual or a group of people who devoted their life to preserve the environment as a way to support continuous development. The award ceremony held in commemoration of the World Environment Day held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

Kalpataru award this time consists of four categories. They were category of environmental pioneer (5 individuals), category of servant for the environment (3 individuals), category of environmental rescue (5 groups) and category of fostering environment (3 individuals).

President also gave award Adipura to 149 cities and districts in Indonesia. Adipura is a barometer of city management, which made the successful indicators for the Executive Government in their respective areas.
