REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Bank CIMB Niaga and PT Indonesia JCB, a branded international credit card, establish a partnership to issue credit card and Merchant Acquiring Business (MAB) in early 2014. This is in line with business community and the increasing number of tourists from Japan to Indonesia.
The credit card will be launched later this month. Jakarta and Bali became the first area to accept the use of JCB credit cards as means of payment.
"By holding JCB as credit card issuer, CIMB Niaga can offer more credit card products to high-income customer segments," Director of JCB Internasional, Hiroshi Terada said on Tuesday.
Terada said CIMB Niaga is a bank with strong growth in its credit card business. The card focuses on middle class customers who like golf course and luxury dining. Many stores and outlets that accept JCB cards in East Asia, especially in Japan, Korea and China, allowing holders of CIMB Niaga JCB Credit Card from this segment enjoy a variety of benefits, considering many of them are traveling to these countries.
JCB is one of the largest payments companies in the world as well as the issuer and leader of underwriter bank in Japan. JCB has more than 23 million merchants and over a million cash withdrawals units spread in 190 countries.
