Four Indonesian students win medal at International Chemistry Olympiad

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Four Indonesian students won medals in the recent International Chemistry Olympiad in Moscow, Russia on 15-24 July, 2013.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Moscow’s informed that those students grabbed three silver medals and one bronze medal. They were awarded to Ryan Bagus Fitradi, Ivan Kurniawan, Putu Ivan Budi Gunawan and Jason Mahadika Nathanael.

Moscow State University hosted the 45th International Chemistry Olympiad. Indonesia have participated the olympiad 16 times. 

The International Chemistry Olympiad is an annual international chemistry competition for high school students. All participants take two exams consist of practical and theoretical exams. The duration for each is 5 hours.

The questions reflect the Russian question types which are complicated, difficult and unique. In order to solve the question, it requires imagination based on a deep knowledge of chemistry as well.
