REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Energy and Mineral Resource, Jero Wacik has signed a regulation on electricity price from geothermal power plant. The reference price uses the highest benchmark price or ceiling price.
"I have signed it on June 1. The price is started from 11-12 cents per kWh," Wacik said on Wednesday.
The highest geothermal benchmark price is ranging from 11.5 to 29.6 cents per kWh during period of 2014-2025. The price is divided into three regions, namely Region I (Sumatra, Java and Bali), Region II (Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, Papua and Kalimantan), Region III (between Region I and Region II, which used special transmission system).
Based on document published by the Ministry, the new price in Region I is ranging from 11.5 to 15.9 cents per kWh. Next, Region II (16.5-23.3 cents per kWh) and Region III (25-29/6 cents per kWh).
