Asian stocks decline, IHSG increases

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) increased at the end of the session I. IHSG started the week, Monday (31/8), with positive moves by 0.77 percent or 34.16 points to level 4480.36.

Stock indexes moved higher since in the beginning of the opening. Consistently, at 9:02 pm, IHSG strengthened by 0.098 percent or 4.372 points to level 4450.573.

It was opposite to the movement of stock markets in other Asian countries which moved negatively. Japan Stock Index, TOPIX,was opened in level 1541.85, and today (at 14:32 GMT) declined by 1.06 percent or 16.48 points to level 1533.32.

Other Japanese stock index, Nikkei 225, also weakened. At 14:20 GMT, the index had reddened by 1.78 percent or 339.98 points to level 18796.34.

Stock market performance in Korea, KOSPO, decreased by minus 0.2 percent or 3.93 points to level 1933.74. While Shanghai Stock Index (SSE) in China, also weakened. SSE performance at 12:42 GMT declined by 2.62 percent to level 3147.49. At 13:27 GMT, Shenzhen Stock Index (SZSE) also weakened by 2.88 percent at level 1793.59.

Positive movement had seen in stock market performance of Hong Kong. Hang Seng stock index rose by 0.04 percent or 7.76 points to level 21620.15.
