REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that value of Indonesian exports in October 2015 was amounted to 12.08 billion US dollars or decreased by four percent compared to September 2015.

Cumulatively, exports value in Indonesia in January to October 2015 was amounted to 127.22 billion US dollars or decreased by 14.04 percent over the same period last year.

Even so, volume of exports throughout October 2015 rose by 4.38 percent. Head of BPS, Suryamin, said the increase in export volume showed that demand for Indonesian exports of goods was still quite high. Unfortunately, commodity prices were still falling and making the value of exports declined.

"The value of exports fell as the price of commodity exports has not improved," said Suryamin in his presentation, Monday (16/11).

Suryamin explained, of 22 commodities, there were only two commodities whose prices rose, namely cocoa by 3.32 percent and corn by 5.09 percent.

"Commodity prices are still far than in 2014. In fact, there are quite whose prices fell by 20 percent," Suryamin added.
