Unattended backpack does not contain any explosive: Police

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK -- Pancoran Mas Sector Police chief Commissioner H Nadapdap revealed unattended backpack at sidewalk of ITC Depok, West Java did not contain any explosive. So did the other hand carry bag found nearby.

"There were only clothes inside of it," he explained. 

The bags were found on Monday (July 3) morning. A resident made a police report against the finding. Based on procedure, the police have to deploy bomb squad to perform bomb test.

Nadapdap said the owner of the bags has been found and currently is being questioned at Depok Police headquarters.

"Police line has been lifted and the roads have been opened," Nadapdap said.

According to the eye witness, Rahmat (35 yo), the two bags were left by a person coming from Depok bus terminal at around 09.00 local time. "Because it looked suspicious, I made a report to the police," he said.
