REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - The incumbent governor, Ahmad Heryawan, and his new running mate Deddy Mizwar, won the election of governor of West Java, according to a quick count survey by Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI).
The candidate endorsed by Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Ahmad Heryawan or known as Aher had 33.1 percent votes compared with 27.5 percent for Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) candidates, Rieke Diah Pitaloka and Teten Masduki. Golkar's candidates, M.S Syafiuddin, or known as Yance, and Tatang Farhanul Hakim, got 11.89 percent, while independent candidates, Dikdik Mulyana Arief Mansur and Cecep Nana Suryana Toyib, won only 1.99 percent of votes.
Aher welcomed the result but he warned the supporters not to be exaggeratedly.
The Chairman of PKS, Anis Matta, said the winning was a sweet victory in the middle of political storm as the former party's chairman, Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq, was allegedly involved in graft case related to imported meat. Matta hopes PKS would be resurrected, adding that winning West Java Gubernatorial Election could affect 2014 Presidential Election.
