PAN and Gerindra to declare coalition next week

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National Mandate Party (PAN) and Gerindra Party will declare their coalition next week. 

"We will declare our coalitin for the presidential election next week, probably on May 14," chairman of Board Advisory Council of National Mandate Party (PAN), Tjatur Sapto Edy said on Friday.

Edy said that PAN allowed Prabowo Subianto as Gerindra's presidential candidate, to pick his own candidate for vice president post. He further elaborated that power sharing was not the reason behind their coalition.

"There are also other candidates from Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and Golkar Party," he said.

Instead, Edy added, both parties agreed to share responsibility to build strong government to protect the whole nation, create a welfare state, provide education for all, and establish world order. The coalition was based on the similar platform to build Indonesia with comply with Indonesia's constitution, especially article 33 on national economy and social welfare.
