PDIP rejects the notion of grand coalition with Golkar Party

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - There is no clue on grand coalition plan between Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and Golkar Party, as meeting between Chairman of Golkar Party Aburizal (Ical) Bakrie and patron leader of PDIP, Megawati Soekarno Putri, on Sunday did not bear fruit.

"We haven't reached any decision," Ical said, after the meeting on Sunday evening. 

Secretary General of PDIP's Central Board, Tjahjo Kumolo added that Ical presented the result Golkar Party's convention on on Sunday morning. He underlined that no coalition deal produced after the meeting. On the other hand, Kumolo said, Megawati did not respond to Ical's political offer.

"Jokowi will declare his vice presidential candidate at 10 am," Kumolo said.

Megawati plans to meet with leaders of coalition partners namely National Awakening Party (PKB), National Democrat, and People's Conscious Party on Monday at 9 am. While at 9 awas the evening, the parties will submit president and vice presidents to Commision General Election on the afternoon.
