REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A lawmaker from Commission V of House of Representatives, Abdul Hakim, criticized the technology of Air Traffic Control (ATC). His complaint is following the AirAsia QZ8501's crash.
"Indonesia's ATC depends on radio, when other countries use sophisticated radar," Hakim said on Friday, January 2.
He said that he was willing to fix every laws related to aviation. Parliament will soon discuss the matter. "We will not only discuss the aviation, but also the condition of weather that affects ATC connection," he said.
He argued that discipline was also an important thing in aviation. Every related party should be discipline. "Anyone who fails to be discipline will affect the system," he said.
