REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly disagrees with the plan of granting immunity rights to commissioners of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). She argued that immunity rights were violating constitution.

"We have constitution. Every person is similar under law and government," Laoly said after attending inauguration of one-stop services (PTSP) at Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) on Monday, January 26.

She said that granting immunity rights to commissioners of KPK would violate constitution. Any law institution, either KPK or Police, doesn't need immunity rights. She said that they needed to be transparent.

Earlier, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is urged to issue a government regulation in lieu of law on the granting of immunity rights to commissioners of KPK as they are susceptible to the criminalization efforts.
