REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo expressed his disappointment with a number of his subordinate officials during a limited cabinet meeting at Bogor Palace on Sunday for failing to report the price of subsidized price for the poor (raskin).
The President said since the government launched a market operation three weeks ago he had not received any report on the price of the subsidized rice.
"Normally I received a report (on the price of subsidized rice) but this time I will report it," he said.
Based on the result of recent market observation, the price of IR3 rice at the Cipinang wholesale market fell to Rp7,900 a kg after it soared to Rp9,300 a kg.
The price of IR2 rice also declined to Rp8,300 a kg from Rp10,300 a kg previously.
The meeting was held to discuss a fluctuation in the rupiah's exchange rate against the dollar and the government's policy to set rice prices.
