REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo needs to think about reshuffling the ministers in his working cabinet as some of them are appointed in inappropriate positions, stated Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani.

"Regarding the cabinet reshuffle, I think most of the ministers must be reviewed. It is not only Pak (Mr) Yasonna Laoly (the law and human rights minister)," Muzani noted here on Wednesday.

He remarked that there were several ministers who did not have the requisite qualifications to occupy ministerial posts in the Joko Widodo government, and some of them cannot even do anything.

"There are ministers who did not do and understand anything. So, I think, the president, as head of the government, needs to think about reshuffling them in a bid to make his six-month-old government effective," he emphasized.

Muzani cited as an example the increase and decrease in fuel oil prices as one of his careless policies in the past six months of his administration.

"The government has raised the fuel oil prices twice and lowered them twice as well. This is a careless calculation. How could it happen only in a period of six months? This has disturbed the business sector and other economic activities," he claimed.

On March 28, 2015, the government raised the prices of premium gasoline and diesel fuel by Rp500 per liter, respectively.

The prices of premium gasoline were raised from Rp6.8 thousand to Rp7.3 thousand per liter for regions outside Java, Madura, and Bali (Jamali) and from Rp6.9 thousand to Rp7.4 thousand for regions in Jamali.

The government also hiked the price of subsidized diesel oil from Rp6.4 thousand per liter to Rp6.9 thousand per liter both for regions inside and outside Java, Madura, and Bali.

"Both types of fuel prices have been increased by Rp500 per liter," I Gusti Nyoman Wiratmaja, the acting director general of oil and gas, noted while announcing the price hikes on Friday.

This was the second time that the government has raised the gasoline and diesel oil prices in March after increasing them earlier on March 1.
