REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Security authorities of Bandung have prohibited the use of helicams (drones) to cover the commemoration of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) in the first security area of Merdeka Building.

"The first security area for the Bandung Historical Walk extends from Homan Hotel to Merdeka Building," Chief of the West Java Police Inspector General Mochamman Iriawan said here on Tuesday (14/2).

According to Iriawan, the police will not allow the use of helicams as part of efforts to maintain security and order during the commemoration of the AAC.

Furthermore, he revealed that the AAC can be covered from corners that are assigned and coordinated by the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres). Journalists and reporters who have special identity cards can cover the event.

"While the paspamres will secure ring one, rings two and three will be thoroughly secured by all territorial units," Iriawan affirmed.

He also mentioned that the West Java Police will set up a media center to provide information to journalists and the community that supports the implementation of the AAC.

"The West Java Police will set up media center in a strategic location," he noted.

In addition, spokesperson for the West Java Police, Senior Commissioner Sulistyo Pudjo Hartono, stated that he was ready to set up a media center to cover the activities of the conference.

"Yes, we will set up a media center near ring one. The facility will be expected to provide information related to this event," he explained.
