REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- The police, on Sunday night, confiscated a number of weapons and bullets on the bodies of two alleged terrorists who were killed during a shootout in Gayatri village in Central Sulawesi provincial district of Poso.

The confiscated weapons comprising one M16 organic weapon, two homemade bombs, machetes, including 20 bullets of 5.56 mm caliber, according to public relations officer of the Central Sulawesi police office, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Hari Suprapto here on Sunday.

The two alleged terrorists were supposedly the Santoso-led group members of the East Indonesian Mujahedeen, he said.

According to Hari, bodies of the two alleged terrorists have been evacuated to the police Bhayangkara hospital in Palu city, adding there was no immediate information about the alleged terrorists identity.

Some police personnel who were involved in the shootout that took place at about 7.00 p.m. local time, were reportedly suffered gunshot wounds, but did not cause casualties.

The police personnel had previously lurked the hideout of the terrorist group, Hari stated, adding the police personnel are still hunting the terrorists supposedly remained hiding in the forest of the Parigi Moutong District.

On April 4, 2015, the police found a number of self-made bombs and guns on the body of an alleged terrorist who was killed during a shootout at a coffee plantation in Parigi Moutong.

"We do not know what types of guns they are. I will tell you later," Chief of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Command Brigadier General Idham Azis said.

The firefight took place at around 8 p.m. when members of an armed group were attempting to run towards the hilly region of Donggala district from the hilly region of Sakinah Jaya in Parigi Moutong district.

The police continued to chase members of the group, following a clash in Parigi Moutong on Friday evening that left one suspected terrorist, believed to be Sabar Subagyo alias Daeng Koro, dead.

Following the firefight on Friday evening, the police confiscated an M16 rifle, a self-made gun, a number of self-made bombs, a cellphone, and a GPS device.

Daeng Koro is believed to be the deputy chief of the armed group that has been wanted by the police for long.
