REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU -- The regional government of Riau Province announced that this year, it has received one thousand heads of young cattle for breeding from the Ministry of Agriculture.
"I have received a report from the head of the Riau Animal Husbandry Service that Riau has been allocated one thousand cattle offspring," Riau Acting Governor Arsyadjuliandi Rachman noted here on Monday.
Rachman stated that Riau has been provided the assistance not only for this year but also for 2016. Another assistance allocation has also been prepared for Riau in 2016.
"In 2016, Riau Province will receive another assistance of five thousand young cows," the acting governor remarked.
He affirmed that Riau has the potential to be developed into a cattle production center, which is apart from its potential as a center of palm oil plantations.
"Riau has vast palm oil plantations," he added.
