REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned North Sumatra (Sumut) Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho and senior lawyer OC Kaligis. They were scheduled to be questioned as a witness in a case of alleged bribery against three judges of the State Administrative Court (PTUN) in Medan.
"Otto Cornelis Kaligis and Gatot Pujo Nugroho examined as a witness to MYB (M. Yagari Bhastara Guntur aka Gery)," said Head of KPK’s Reporting and Publication Priharsa Nugraha, on Monday, July 13.
In this case, Gery allegedly giving bribes related to a lawsuit petition filed byNorth Sumatra provincial government through the Head of Finance Ahmad Fuad Lubis. The lawsuit was to test the authority of the North Sumatra High Court which was issuing the warrant investigation (Sprindik) in cases of suspected corruption of social aid (Bansos) and BDB in North Sumatra.
The bribes given to three Medan Administrative Court judges and one clerk of court who handled the case. They were Panel of Judges Chairman Tripeni irianto Putro, member judge Dermawan Ginting and Amir Fauzi and Clerk of court Syamsir Yusfan. The four were also named as suspect recipients of bribes.
"Having examined intensively in Medan City Police, the investigators concluded there are allegation of corruption allegedly committed by the individual," said Caretaker Deputy Chairman of KPK Johan Budi.
Gery was suspected as the giver detained at State Prison (Rutan) Class I East Jakarta branch of KPK. The chairman of the Medan Administrative Court Tripeni Irianto Putro alleged recipient Class I was detained at the State Prison (Rutan) in East Jakarta KPK branch located in Pomdam Jaya Guntur.
Three other suspects were also suspected of being the recipient namely Ahmad Fauzi, Dermawan Ginting, as well as the Secretary of the Administrative Court of Medan Syamsir Yusfan each detained at the State Prison (Rutan) Central Jakarta Police, the State Prison (Rutan) of South Jakarta Police, and the State Prison (Rutan) of Metro Jaya Regional Police. They were detained for the first 20 days.
