REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Zulkifli Hasan, said that the decision made by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in reshuffling his cabinet, was appropriate. The cabinet reshuffle should be done after 10 months to 1 year of the reign.

“The step was appropriate,” he said, at the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Wednesday (12/8).

Zulkifli added that since the beginning he was not agree if the reshuffle was done after 6 months in office. Moreover, if the cabinet reshuffle carried out in the holy month (Ramadhan), it would bring the uncertainty of government.

He stated that the reshuffle should give a good signal to the market and investors to restore public confidence. Jokowi must ensure that several names in his cabinet are right person.
