REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MUARA TEWEH -- Haze from forest and plantation fires in North Barito District, Central Kalimantan Province, reduced visibility to 100 meters on Thursday morning.

"Haze has thickened, reducing visibility and causing respiratory problem," Dany, a local resident, said.

Sunardi of the local meteorology office said the surface visibility was only 100 meters, while the vertical visibility was 150 feet in the morning.

"Today's haze is worse than that of yesterday," he noted.
