REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Several leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR) visited the State Palace on Thursday to attend a consultation meeting with President Joko Widodo.
"We will visit the State Palace to consult with President Widodo," DPR Deputy Chairman Taufik Kurniawan stated here on Thursday.
Kurniawan and House Speaker Setya Novanto have left the DPR building.
However, Kurniawan refused to explain the agenda of the meeting.
"We will merely discuss it," he noted.
Earlier, the DPR had agreed on Friday to pass the law on the 2016 budget on the condition that the State Capital Injection (PMN) would be referred to the concerned House Commission VI and XI for another discussion when the 2016 revised budget is discussed later.
The government has proposed Rp40 trillion for the PMN.
Bambang, representing the government, accepted the condition, which would not change the posture of the 2016 budget.
So, the budget ceiling will remain at Rp2,095 trillion, with the state income at Rp1,822.5 trillion.
Fiscal deficit to be controlled by the government was set at 2.15 percent of the gross domestic product, or Rp273 trillion.
With this budget level, the government expects the growth to reach 5.3 percent in 2016, with an inflation rate of 4.7 percent.
Similar to the 2015 budget, the government has also set welfare targets in the 2016 budget.
For 2016, the government has set a target to reduce the poverty rate to 9-10 percent, bring the unemployment rate to 5.2-5.5 percent, economic gap to 0.39, and the human development index to 70.10.
