REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Construction of fast train from Jakarta to Bandung was claimed to have a very large effect, one of them was in the employment sector. According to Director of PT Indonesia-Cina Fast Train (KCIC), Hanggoro Budi Wiryawan, construction that would begin in 2016 to 2019 was expected to absorb workers in large quantities.

"Workers that can be absorbed are 40 thousand people," said Hanggoro, Wednesday (2/11).

According to him, he had requested KCIC to employ many domestic workers especially from West Java. It was very important to reduce the unemployment rate.

"Mostly workers are from local, while workers from China are only in expert-level workers whose the number is very limited," he added.

Currently, the construction was waiting for permission trace issued by Ministry of Transportation. However, It required recommendations of Governor of West Java and Jakarta.

"If it had been launched by the President, we work on preparation for construction of the rail and construction of station/TOD (Transit Oriented Development)," Hanggoro explained.
