REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan has ordered schools in West Java can optimize the extra curricular activity of the Youth Red Cross (PMR). Heryawan hope, PMR activities can encourage the younger generation to have high concern for others.
"Certainly schools should encourage PMR activities, as PMR can make students more attentive in helping others," Heryawan said at the Sate Building, Friday (22/7).
According to Aher, optimization of PMR in schools is very important because the skills taught to students, PMR also can educate the students to have the soft skills so that the students also have a high concern for others.
"In this modern era, there is tendency of extraordinary intelligence but lack of caring each other. This is dangerous," he said.
In addition, he said, PMR exist at school to train soft skills and train the soul skill. This is necessary to make young people who have a concern in many ways.
Namely, help in psychiatric problem. The members of PMR also have hard skill in engineering, industry and others. Aher concerned, if the intelligence of the students were not accompanied by intelligence of soft skills, it can make people unruly and is individualistic. However, he feel grateful that PMR activities in schools are well developed. Thus, it is also to educate the students and the younger generation to be able to have high concern.
