REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta Police have revealed pedophile network who used Facebook and Whatsapp group. Regarding the case, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rudiantara said he would follow up the case with blocking social media account involved in accordance with police Instruction

"That's the realm of law, but for Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the sign is actually in the private rather than in public domain. But it depends on police, if police asked to block the social media account, we will do it,'' Rudiantara said at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (March 15).

Nevertheless, he admitted that he has been coordinating with the police to close or block perpetrator's Facebook or Whatsapp. He explained, the ministry could not directly block perpetrators’ social media account due to the private sphere. However, when it related to public domain, then the ministry may directly to block social media accounts.

Previously, the Jakarta Police has revealed the practice of international network pornography involving minors. They acted through social media and Whatsapp group.
