REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Advisory Board of Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) Din Syamsuddin said the 55 rally is an expression of democration which is guaranteed by the Constitution.
"Therefore, nobody may block it. Anyone who tried to clog it is catagorized as anti-democracy, anti-Constitution," he said in a release made available to Republika.co.id, Thursday.
According to Din, the 55 rally is in line with true harmony. He said the rally is a form of protest against hate speech. "The purpose of 55 rally is to remind Indonesia to continue enforcing the law and justice," he said.
Din said if the blasphemer is free from any charge, he feared mutual insults between groups of people will rampant and undermine the diversity of the nation. He saw the symptoms lately.

"Violator of norms and ethics of harmony should be amputated through law enforcement that is fair and considered the sense of justice in the community," he said.
Din asked the authority to accept people's feelings and mind conveyed through rally for the upholding of law and justice. "To those who will participated in the rally, do not get provoked and stuck in violence and anarchism," he reiterated.
