REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) challenged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to complete corruption case for suspect former President Director of Pelindo II, RJ Lino.
IPW assessed the case of procurement of three quay container cranes (QCC) for state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II in 2010, had been suspended for too long.
IPW Presidium Chairman, Neta S Pane said that in IPW's record, RJ Lino has been named as suspect since two years ago.
"But surprisingly, the case was unsettled. KPK seemed to store Lino case inside the ice chest. So does the Police with another case involving RJ Lino," he said on Thursday (November 23).
Neta continued, there should be no assumption that the anti-graft body only targeted Setya Novanto. RJ Lino case, on the other hand, has been left behind.
"Lino seems to be more powerful than Novanto. Evidently, despite having two cases in KPK and National Police Criminal Agency (Bareskrim) but Lino remains safe," he said.
Neta said, KPK's firmness towards Novanto also has to be shown to RJ Lino. Therefore, there will be no accusation that KPK is being selective in handling corruption cases.
KPK must prove that Lino was not immune to the law by continue to process his case immediately.
Likewise with Bareskrim, Neta said, if Lino's case could not be proceed, the case should be terminated. So there will be legal certainty and people will not have the impression that Bareskrim afraid of Lino.
