REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK -- The Indonesian Tourist Guide Association (ITGA) in Noemfoor Biak, Papua wanted to be involved in tourism development programs in Papua to attract tourist's visits. Chairman of ITGA Biak, Rudolf Boy Ronsumbre said that ITGA Biak would cooperate with many networks and foreign travel agents.
"The potential of nature tourism in Biak is very interesting, so that ITGA must contribute ideas through intensive meetings," Ronsumbre said on Wednesday.
Through ITGA's involvement in discussion of tourism programs in region, it is expected to encourage the interest of foreign tourists to enjoy various natural and cultural tourism with indigenous people in Papua. Ronsumbre committed that ITGA will attract more tourists to come to Biak.
Based on data, Biak has many potential tourism attractions, such as Padaido marine tourism park and Aimando Island. Biak also has world heritage and historical attractions since the era of World War II, such as Japanese caves, the World War Monument in Anggraidi, Paray, as well as the potential of native culture.
