REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- PT Angkasa Pura I is targeting one million foreign tourists to visit Manado, North Sulawesi in 2025. "We are very optimistic that this target will be achieved in 2025," said President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I, Sulistyo Hardjito, in workshops and focus group discussion in Manado, Thursday (27/8).
He said that it could be achieved due to the geographical and tourism potential in North Sulawesi that is quite high and is different from other areas. Nature tourism, such as mountain, beach, underwater, culture and others, already be packaged properly for the tourists who come and visit the province.
Marketing and Business Development Director of PT Angkasa Pura I, Robert Waloni, said the target of one million tourist arrivals in North Sulawesi will require an additional 14 times daily international flights. "As well as the addition of Sam Ratulangi Airport capacity to a minimum 5 MPPA," said Robert.
It also would require 10 thousand hotel rooms and is expected to add 100 thousand workers. "The target revenue from the tourism sector will be Rp 13 trillion for North Sulawesi," he explained.
General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I, Ahmad S Shahab, said Sam Ratulangi Airport now has ability to serve international flights, in order to support a variety potential tourist areas that can be developed in North Sulawesi. "It takes collaboration among all stakeholders to prepare a tourism destination in North Sulawesi with reliable human resources and infrastructure, so that the one million foreign tourist in 2025 can be reached,” he explained.
