REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TOMOHON -- A total of 1,729 joint personnel are ready to secure the Tomohon International Flower Festival, which is being held from August 4 to 12, the Deputy Head of Precinct Police Stations (Polres) in Tomohon Commissioner Police Alkat Karouw stated.
"Eleven series of (festival) activities are spread over a number of locations. The government has urged the police to secure the festival," Alkat said here on Friday.
He further remarked that the joint personnel comprise of the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Transportation Department, police, Disaster Mitigation Agencies (BPBD), Community Protection force (Linmas), and others.
The Tomohon precinct police stations deploy 294 personnel. Meanwhile, North Sumatra Police has assigned 250 police officers.
Some 120 personnel of Satpol, 100 from the Transportation and Health Departments, BPBD, and 750 personnel from Linmas have been assigned to secure the Tomohon International Flower Festival.
BPBD personnel will be stationed on the roads, which are prone to landslides.
"With this cooperation, we want to guarantee the comfort of the participants, residents and even tourists during the Tomohon International Flower Festival," Alkat noted.
