REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the National Amanat Party (PAN) faction of DPR RI Saleh Partaonan Daulay said that cadres in the area hope that PAN Deputy General Chairman Yandri Susanto will be able to become a minister in the government cabinet in the next 5 years.

“It turns out that the cadres from the area have great care and expectations. They want Prabowo to succeed with the support of one of his top cadres, Yandri. Of course, all will be returned to Prabowo as a candidate for elected president,” Saleh said in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday (9/5/2024).

Saleh explained that the hope was heard from regional PAN cadres who will follow the technical guidance (bimtek) and national coordination meetings (rakornas) of the elections this Thursday.

Yandri's name is expected to be a candidate for Prabowo-Gibran cabinet minister because it is judged to be the main cadre of the PAN moving from below. He claimed to have known Yandri for a long time so it was natural to expect to be a potential minister.

“I know a lot of Yandri's work is quite successful, not only in the PAN, but also outside the party. He was hardworking, tenacious, tough, unyielding, friendly, affable, and had quite an extensive network,” he said.

In addition, Yandri is often entrusted with the task of carrying out important and strategic tasks. For example, he was assigned as Chairman of the PAN's National Election Reconciliation Committee (KPPN) as well as Commander Charlie (Fundraising) in Prabowo-Gibran's National Campaign Team (TKN).

He also explained that Yandri has always been actively involved in every party agenda so it is not surprising that he knows all PAN executives in Indonesia.

“Yandri knows cadres easily and has a strong memory. Not only the name, the origin of the region and the village are remembered. It is natural that all the managers in the area are happy with Yandri,” he said.

Therefore, he considered it very natural that at the PAN Rakornas event there were cadres from different regions who expected Yandri to be one of Prabowo-Gibran's ministers in the future.

PAN cadres, he continued, believe that Yandri is able to achieve achievements in the cabinet based on his experience and track record and political career, which will greatly help Prabowo Gibran's tasks.

“It's the same in parliament. Yandri has been a pansus leader, faction secretary, Chairman of Commission VIII of DPR RI, and even now Vice Chairman of MPR RI. In terms of experience, it has been very good and mature,” he added.
