REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir spoke about the creative industries. Erick said the key of the creative industries is having to adapt to changes and situations.
Everything that happens in all parts of the world moves very fast. Many parties are vying to show excellence in the sector. That's why, explains Erick, there has to be very serious, innovative and consistent action in living it up.
“When we talk about the creative industry, you have to really delve into it, but at the same time, you have to be ready to adapt to the changing world, because it's not a static business, like you come in the morning and go home in the evening,” the figure, who also serves as PSSI's Chairman, said in an Instagram video while speaking at the Pertamina Creativepreneur Summit 2024 forum, quoted by Republika.co.id, Sunday (25/8/2024).
He continued, improvisation became vital. It is done every day. There's no time to wait.
If this is not the case, we will miss out. People elsewhere are also doing similar things. So there needs to be more uniqueness and value of each product produced. Very dynamic.
“But you have to improve your product every day, because the key to the creative industry, you have to adapt, to changing situations,” Erick said.
What about the creative industries in Indonesia? He explained that this was also the focus of the government. How to cooperate with all stakeholders in optimizing it.
The creative industry, says Erick, is a novelty in Indonesia. This sector contributes to economic growth of five percent per year over the next 20 years.
“If we talk about the digital economy, we will be the largest in Southeast Asia,” the state-owned enterprises minister said, optimistically.
Erick explained that Indonesia has a number of resources that support the optimization of creative industries. The country's got a demographic bonus. A lot of young kids are in productive age.
Indonesia is famous for its extensive culture. From Sabang-Merauke there are a variety of unique regional peculiarities. The maturation process is constantly carried out, in order to be more effective in producing economically, and useful for the country and society.
“The production is up and running, but the quality, the management and the implementation, that's what we're pushing for,” Erick said.
He reiterated that Indonesia's Creative Industry will be the largest in Southeast Asia. The key was to be able to adapt to the changes that occur and maximize the potential that it has, in order to continue to compete.
