Asia Media Summit to open in Manado tomorrow

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO - Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring will open the Asia Media Summit in the North Sulawesi provincial capital of Manado on Wednesday.

The two-day meeting which would bring together participants from 26 Asian, European, American, and African countries would discuss a variety of broadcast-related problems such as news package and current strategic issues in the information field, head of the North Sulawesi provincial transportation, communication and information office Parlindungan Tampubolon said on Tuesday.

Prior to the summit, the event`s organizing committee has organized a talkshow on new era of broadcast which featured Director General of Communication and Public Information of the Communication and Information Ministry Freddy Tulung and an AIBD official.

"We hope for support from all sides to create peaceful and secure condition so the Asia Media Summit will be successful," he said.
