REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Wednesday condemned terrorist measures and assassination attempt on lives of his Iraqi counterpart Ossama al-Nujayfi and his brother, saying campaign against terrorism needs regional cooperation.

In a message on Wednesday, Larijani said he was happy the assassination attempt was abortive.

He said undoubtedly, terrorism is a serious threat to security, calm and progress of the entire regional nations. He added that campaign against terrorism requires collective cooperation at regional level.

He underlined that Islamic Republic of Iran's principled policy is based on campaign against terrorist groups, saying that Iran is ready for mutual cooperation in the field.
