REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SANTA CLARA -- Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) today announced an agreement with Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the global interconnection and data center company, to provide enterprises with a Hitachi Cloud -- Compute as a Service solution that delivers managed private cloud services inside Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers.
Many enterprise CIOs are faced with the need to shift to public clouds for better agility and economics but struggle to ensure mission-critical applications achieve the secure and stringent service level requirements of the business.
Working with HDS, enterprises are able to combine the platforms, software and managed solutions required to create a private cloud infrastructure that is scalable, cost effective and high performance to meet the demands of today’s business environment. The fully managed, secure, on-premise cloud solution also shifts the investment from up-front costs associated with traditional technology deployments to outcome-based, pay-as you-go pricing.
“Equinix was a logical partner to extend customer value for our Hitachi Cloud -- Compute as a Service offering,” said Emmanuel Goutallier, vice president and general manager, managed cloud solutions, Hitachi Data Systems.
“Together with Equinix, we achieve a true hybrid cloud solution that provides end-to-end elastic solutions that leverage the best of both private and public cloud. With data centers throughout the globe, Equinix was a great fit for our global customers who were interested in the flexibility, agility and economic advantage provided by our managed cloud solution.”
