REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HANOI -- Passengers from the Republic of Korea (RoK) entering Vietnam after August 15, 2015 will be exempted from MERS-CoV health declarations, said the Ministry of Health on August 12.
The ministry has requested provinces and cities continue to implement MERS-CoV health declarations with passengers from MERS-CoV affected countries in the Middle East.
The ministry also ordered health departments in provinces and cities to update information on the epidemic and the list of countries still affected by the disease.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), as of August 10, 2015, the RoK had not reported any new MERS-CoV patients for 36 consecutive days.
The RoK's Prime Minister announced the epidemic had been cleared in the country on July 28 and most countries have lifted warnings on visiting the East Asian country.
