REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Director General for Hajj and Umrah of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Anggito Abimanyu announced that the total number of Indonesians for hajj pilgrimage became 168.000 after 20 percent of reduction from the quota.
The number consists of 155.200 regular pilgrims and 13.600 pilgrims with premium service. The outcome of this reduction is based on the new regulation of religious affair ministry regarding the requirements for the departure of pilgrims
Anggito said for all indonesian people who would like to know about the details regarding the names included in the departure and postponement lists, they can access it through its website www.haji.kemenag.co.id or call at 5600425. The result of regular pilgrim’s verification shows that there are 575 people who postpone their departure by virtue of the separation among family member, illness or having pilgrimage performance before.
Meanwhile the result of premium pilgrim verification shows there are 594 people who delay their departure with the same reasons. Those regular and premium pilgrims will be the priority for the next pilgrimage departure in 2014. Abimanyu also emphasized that the entire process in determining the departed or delayed was conducted through the eligible procedure without any outside inference.
In order to prevent Indonesian pilgrims from becoming infected with corrnonavirus, he relies upon the obligation to wear masker for Indonesian people during the pilgrimage period this year. He perceived that there was no vaccine for coronavirus so far. His directorate works hand in hand with Ministry of Health in carrying out the vaccination for all Indonesian pilgrims. The vaccine that has been given is meningitis vaccine.
“With the protection of Indonesian pilgrims’s health by wearing a mask and vaccination we hope they will have better protection from coronavirus," he said
