Indonesia grabs the winner tittle in Quran Recitation

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia grabbed most of categories in 2nd International Competition of Quran Recitation which took place on September 11-14, 2013 in Jakarta. The event was officially closed by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar in Jakarta.

The international competition was attended by 40 participants from 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Al Zajair, France, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Jordan, United States, Malaysia, Iran, Quwait, Netherland, Sudan, Timor Leste, and Indonesia as the host. It performed two competitions, namely memorizing Quran competition and Quran recitation competition.

Umar hopes that such event would increase unitiy among Muslims. Earlier, Indonesia held national scale event in Maluku, which involved not only Muslims but also people from other religions. We expect the event will give positive impact and touching memorable preaching for whole society, " Umar said this weekend.
