REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — National Movement to Safeguard Fatwa of Ulemas (GNPF Ulama) Yusuf Muhammad Martak said he had just visited incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) running mate, KH Ma’ruf Amin, after he was reportedly suffered a sprained leg.
“Today, after holding a routine meeting of the board of Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), we hear that Kiai Ma’ruf is sick,” said Yusuf on Tuesday (Dec 4).

Yusuf said MUI board visited Ma’ruf at his residence. He expected Ma’ruf to have a speedy recovery.
‘We just visit our MUI general chairman because he is sick. Insya Allah (God’s will) he will get well soon,” Yusuf added.
Ma’ruf sprained his leg as he fell. His daughter Siti Ma’rifah confirmed the cause.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), he is getting better and starts to receives guests in his house," Siti said.
