REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - One of the biggest Indonesian retailer, PT Matahari Putra Prima recorded a net profit worth 63.2 billion IDR only in the first quarter of the year. The value grows 525 percent compared to the same period last year.
The company, which 26.1 percent of shares owned by Temasek Holdings of Singapore, booked gross profit by 419.1 billion IDR, while the revenue reached 2.6 trillion IDR. The company's consolidated gross profit increased 29.4 percent or 419.1 billion IDR. Operating income also grew 32.2 percent or 74.6 billion IDR.
"Total revenue is almost earned full from Hypermart, the Matahari Food Division. The Hypermat contributed 90 percent of total revenue," said President Director of Matahari, Benjamin Mailool on Monday.
Matahari recorded net interest income amounted 6.9 billion IDR in the first quarter 2013, higher than 5.6 billion IDR in same periode last year.
