REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Criminal law expert from Indonesia Islamic University, Muzakir has said Jessica Kumala Wongso and the Olivier Cafe's barista, Rangga, who prepared Vietnamese iced coffee have the same potential for to be Wayan Mirna Salihin's killer. They both were interacted with the coffee before Mirna drank the coffee.
Therefore Muzakir regretted the judges sentenced Jessica 20 years in prison. "It could happened. Why Jessica was accussd? Why not Rangga? They have same potential," said Muzakir to Republika.co.id, Saturday (10/29).
Muzakir explained Jessica seated in the table number 54 and the position in the middle and could be seen by other cafe visitors. While Rangga activities could only be seen by his co-workers. Only a cafe employee knew his position. However, no one known what Rangga did inside.
During the trial, Muzakir added, there was no witness who see Jessica put something into the coffee. Therefore, Jessica and Rangga have the same potential as a suspect, but it was only as secondary evidence. "To convict someone, there must be convincing primer evidence," he said.
